follow up on my BV post...

vaginapaginahey everyone- first off, i just wanted to say thanks for everyone's feedback on BV post from last week.
just thought i'd post a follow-up. i went to the gyno today and she called me back saying there was an imbalance of bacteria & yeast going on. she didn't say it was BV specifically, but she did prescribe me some pills that are typically used to treat BV (Metronidazole, or Flagyl, the brand name) and a vaginal cream (Terconazole). Haven't picked them up yet and won't really need to use them now cos the infection has subsided for the time being.
she ruled out HBC as the cause since i have been on the pill for a few years. i do have a pack of Othro-Tricyclen from my regular physician though, so i figured it wouldn't hurt to try it to see if helps. there doesn't seem to be any strong counteraction of Flagyl with HBC, but i still need to be careful. i used to take Minocycline with HBC and never had any problems, so i don't think it'll be a huge issue.
anyway, at first i was kinda disappointed that there wasn't a more permanent solution, but at least i have access to proper treatment so i won't suffer like i did before. ugh. just the thought of it makes me cringe.
