Nipple tenderness

I've noticed my nipples have been extremely tender for a few days. I also have what I believe to be ovulation pain in my sides. Could the nipple pain be related to ovulation?

My nipples always get sore right around when I think I'm ovulating, and lasts till I get my period. It happens no more than two weeks before I get my period. I like it because it lets me know when I can expect my period, and lets me know what's going on with my body.
