I couldn't find this question in the archives, so I hope it hasn't been asked before.

This month I haven't had any signs of PMS, although my period was due the 31st and I should have been PMSing for the week leading up to that.  I know I probably didn't ovulate yet for some reason (I've been a little sick), but I am paranoid and it begs the question: if the egg is fertilized, will you show signs of PMS?

I know PMS is in preparation of your period, so logically the answer is no.  But many early pregnancy signs are the same as PMS signs (breast tenderness, fatigue, so on), so if you get pregnant, shouldn't your body still act the same?  I'm just wondering, because my breasts ALWAYS hurt leading up to my period, and they've been happy and painless the whole month.  Could it be that breast tenderness is, for me, a sign of PMS, but not an early sign of pregnancy?

I hope this makes sense, I'm very bleary-headed today.  :)  Thanks!

I think that there is really no way to answer your questions, because we just can't predict those sorts of things.

If you're worried, you should be able to take a pregnancy test by now.

FWIW, I've had three babies and was never sure until my period really didn't show (I had implantation bleeding that made me wonder each time, that was just exactly like my normal pre-AF spotting) -- my early pregnancy symptoms were never different enough that I could tell for sure.

There's no way to know unless you test, or AF shows up. I hope it turns out the way you want!

Different people are affected differently. For instance, my PMS usually gives me sore breasts and turns me into Miz CRAB. Grrr, rar, ARGH. And/or delivers depression. However, a lot of tea (herbal; Yogi brand throat comfort and immune support, mostly...), or just plain chance, gave me a very non-moody PMS, and I don't recall much breast tenderness that time. (Did nada for the cramps, though. Ibuprofen, my dear, dear friend, how I love you!)

You're past your period due-date, so you'd be able to take a test and find out for sure, probably.

Luck!
