Alright, have a bit of a period question.. will put under a cut for some TMI

Alright, so I've been on BC for almost 8 years.. for the last 2 years, I've maybe gotten like 2 or 3 periods. My doc said he wasn't too worried about it, from a fertility stand point, as I don't want to have any children. Anyways, on NewYearsEve, I started spotting.. and I haven't stopped since. There has been no fresh red blood. It's all brown, and kinda chunky, I guess. Is this something I should be worried about, or is it just my uterus catching up to the fact that it hasn't shed any lining in a while, and now it's just taking it's time getting rid of some?

When I was still on hormones, I noticed that as time went by, they got lighter and lighter and would start having that thick, brown, almost-like-a-clot discharge more often. I'm sure that if I had stayed on the hormones, I would have stopped having the breakthrough bleeding and ended up in the same boat as you.

Well, I called my doc and they made me an appt for Monday.. so hopefully I'll get it all figured out...
