Are there any people here from Carroll County, Maryland who have gone to the Carroll County Health Department for birth control pills? I have a gyno appointment next Monday and I'm supposed to be put on a different brand of birth control pills. I used to be on Ortho Cyclen, but my body really did not like them, then I was able to get on Yaz for two months (but due to lack of money, can no longer afford it) and I really liked it. This are my questions: What kind of birth control did you get? Did you like it? What were the side effects that you experienced? Did it help with acne (this goes for those who have this problem)? How long before you noticed a positive change in your breakouts?

Thank you in advance for your help, it is appreciated.

I live in MD but I go to a clinic in Baltimore County. I take otc lo as of now. It's awesome, it has such a great effect on me because I have ocd. It really calms down my symptoms. The only problem is on my week off so I'm looking to switch as well but it may work for you if the otc regular was too strong maybe?

Just FYI, as a general rule it's important to remember that all hormonal birth control pills can produce all side-effects in all women (including beneficial side-effects like reduced acne); whether or not it will produce those side-effects depends on the individual and their individual body chemistry.

So keep that in mind when you're looking for details about what individual brands of birth control are available from your health department -- other users experiences will not predict how your body reacts to a pill. All you can do is try it for yourself and see! :)
