Early period while on Ortho-Tri-Lo

Hey everyone,

First off, I'm getting me to the doc soon for a yearly check-up, but I wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this.

I've been on BC for two years, and Ortho-Tri-Lo for the past year. This month my period came exactly one week early.

It's a normal period, and it doesn't feel any different from a normal one. There also haven't been any unusual circumstances that I can pinpoint.

Has anyone had this experience before?

well, mine's never come a full week early, but i have had it start during the active pills. i had maybe three left, and my period started. if you're really worried, mention it when you go for your yearly, but i don't think it's anything to be concerned about.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Early periods on HBC are not out of the ordinary (I've had them before myself, actually!). Just be sure to continue taking your pills as normal. If it continues to happen and is bothering you, then you might want to mention it to your health care provider and perhaps see about switching brands of HBC. I used to get my period early on OTC Lo, even after being on it for over a year. I wouldn't worry about it.
