natural lube?

what are the natural lube options out there? i know that regular lube tend to have sample packs, are there any ya'll know of that would give various natural lube samples from different bands?

besides natural lube that you can buy, what can you use that is 'homeade' household? such as i have aloe vera juice...and i've heard people using the gel form as lube..anyone know if this is safe? as well as olive oil, is this safe to use? what are other options?

I actually read recently that shortening (think Crisco) can be used as lube. but dang it if I can remember the site now. I do know though that it was a site dealing with vaginal health issues.

I think you're right about it messing up condoms since it's oil based. But I could have sworn that it was on a site dealing with vaginismus? I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that was it.

Yes, I have used organic Aloe Vera Gel countless times as lube, it works fantastically and is totally safe.

I love using olive oil and baby oil. The consistency is nice, it doesn't dry up, and I just feel like all sensations are maximized. Of course, as other people have mentioned, they should never be used with condoms! But when you're on your own they can be a great option. Oh, and olive oil will seriously mess up your sheets, so always have some old towels underneath you :)

I hope neither oil is bad for the vagina...I never checked, actually. I've never had any problems, though.

I've also used Bliss lube, which is a manufactured lube but has natural aloe vera and is paraben-free and pH-balanced and all that good stuff. It's safe for condoms.

Baby oil generally includes mineral oil, which is petroleum based. I can't find a good blurb simple blurb on the subject right now, but petroleum-based products certainly aren't natural, and they've been liked to everything from infection to pH imbalance to cancer, so that's probably not a very safe substitute, and at least doesn't fit the "natural" category.

Good point. Baby oil is not natural! I've never heard that stuff about petroleum, thanks for the heads up. I use Vaseline on my hands and feet, too, which is most definitely petroleum-based. I'll have to research it further and stick to olive oil for now...

aloe vera is perfectly safe. In fact, I believe it's one of the first ingredients of WET lube.

my guy and i use grapeseed oil as lube and massage oil. ive heard it actually inhibits yeast infection.
