Does anyone know if there is a connection between short luteal phases (mine is usually 6 days long) and severe PMS/PMDD? My google-fu hasn't turned up any results other than how short luteal phase can affect fertility, which doesn't concern me right now. But I've been charting my cycles the last 3 months using FAM to see if there was anything abnormal that might be causing or affecting my severe PMS, and it turns out my luteal phase is consistently way short.
Also, are there any HBC options that include only progesterone, not estrogen? My research on short luteal phase suggests use of Vitamin B-6, which I already take, and progesterone treatment. I've never been on HBC because, for starters, I'm not sexually active, but also because I have a pre-existing medical condition that gives me a very elevated stroke risk. What I've read says that the elevated stroke risk with HBC comes mostly from the estrogen...but I don't even know if there is HBC out there without the estrogen.
EDIT: Second question answered. Thanks!
