I just started reading Cunt (I like it, but it seems like I picked up all of the same wisdom from this community long, long ago!), and a passage says:
"When I'm on my period, I sleep with my Blood Towel between my legs. We all know you're not supposed to wear tampons or sea sponges to bed, but rags and pads always seem to mosh up the 'ol ass" (Muscio 35).
WHO IS THIS COLLECTIVE THAT DECIDED THAT SPONGES AND TAMPONS ARE NOT OK OVERNIGHT? I've been a vagina lovin' superstar for all of my 24 years, and I have never heard this tidbit. It sure seems antiquated to me. Have any of you heard of this warning? What's the reasoning behind it?
