...that should be a band.

anyways...i'm going to france for 4 months at the end of august. i'm wondering if anyone here has taken their vibe with them overseas? would they confiscate it as a WMD or something, or if i store it in my checked baggage would i still have it when i land in paris?

thanks for the help!

mine came with me from australia to new zealand, i had it in my checked luggage, but i took it apart, the batteries, screw on bottom and the main part all apart. i stored it with my bikini tripper, but i didnt think about taking the batteries out of that. but end of story, it was fine.

just take out the batteries, or if they're not removable, find some way to lock it or ensure it won't be turned on by accident somehow. you might want to put them in your checked baggage if it's not your typical-shaped vibe (like a ducky vibe or something like the cone), otherwise it's really nothing new.

flew a few times with a vibe - latest was a month ago SF <-> LA, and I had a few toys in my checked luggage and it was all fine. I put them in a big plastic ziplock bag labelled "sex toys" because I didn't want the baggage screening people to wonder what they are, and I usually clean it regardless after coming from the airport because you never know who might have opened it for inspection.

I found this link once, maybe it might help you with your situation: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2007/06/14/violetblue.DTL

love this. unapologetic and matter of fact: "Sex Toys"

Yes, that's what they are, mr bag inspector.

When my husband and I moved from the States to Germany last year, I put all of my "toys" into our checked baggage, no batteries and kinda wrapped up in clothes. They all made it safe and sound. :)

definitely put it in your luggage...and take the batteries out so it doesn't turn on or whatever, because that could cause them to go through your luggage.

Yea, for definite - TAKE THE BATTERIES OUT. When I came home for... I think it was spring break this year, I just put a piece of tape on the end of mine. It's the kind that you can twist the end to adjust the settings, so I figured, hey if you can't twist it, it won't turn on, right? WRONG. When I got my duffel bag from the carousel after landing, I couldn't HEAR it buzzing, but I could definitely feel it. That was a little awkward when I had to tell my dad, who met me at the carousel, that I had to go into a faraway corner to take care of something.... =\ lol

I spent last fall abroad, and packed my vibe (and batteries and lube) in a plastic ziploc bag in my checked luggage--everything made it from the US to Europe and back in one piece. :)

I traveled with a bunch of toys, no batteries, but also a plug in Hitachi Magic Wand last summer...all were packed in my checked luggage, in a plastic bag. Well, once I got home and opened my suitcase, I noticed all of my stuff was messed up, and there was a nice official note in my suitcase saying they had searched my bag. Man, I'm glad I didn't have that stuff in my carry on! Luckily though, everything was still there. =)

I haven't been abroad, but as long as you remove any/all batteries, and put it in a clear plastic bag in your checked luggage, you should be fine (I recommend putting it twds the top of the suitcase so when they open it to search they find it right away).
