I'm 9 days late for my period and there's really no significant reason it should be. I know for sure I'm not pregnant because I do have my usual PMS symptoms: severe bloating, mild cramping, breast heaviness, bitchiness, and eating like a cow, and my usual hot flashes. I've only had sex (with a condom) twice in the past month: the 2nd week of May I had sex and a couple of days after that I had my period (which oddly enough lasted 4 days and it was more along the lines of spotting). The 2nd time I had sex was last Thursday and I was due for my period last Monday (the 11th).

I've lost lots of weight in the past 6 months (from 175 to 157LBS) and I'm on my 3rd month of Accutane.

All day today I've been drinking Parsley Tea and Ginger Tea and the whole weekend I had the sensation that I had my period (you know the moment you get it you get that weird "ick" feeling) and cramping.

What the heck?

Thanks for reading my rant.

EDIT: I do recall that during my period in May I had to get my blood tests done for my Accutane which included the pregnancy test...and it had to come out negative because my doctor never mentioned it to me and if it came back positive than I would have to stop the medication.

I just took a test it came back NEGATIVE!!! I had to go buy at Walgreens and I went to the Kohls next to me and used their bathroom for it!

PHEW!!!!!
=)

If you were pregnant you would feel the same way you normally do before your period so don't let that be the only reason to think you're not pregnant!

If you don't get your period soon maybe you should take a pregnancy test.

Stress?

Also, your weight loss could definitely play a significant role in it.

Accutane shouldn't matter. I never had period problems the 3 years I was on Accutane/Sotret/Amnesteen.

I would also recommend getting a pregnancy test. Women often have the same PMS symtoms before their expected period even when pregnant.

i second everyone else here and say that you can also have spotting during your normal period time the first few months of pregnancy. your experience sounds very much like someone i know who turned out to be pregnant, just replace accutane with prozac. don't get too worked up about it until you take a test though! are you able to get one?

Do they watch you pee?

They'll find out soon enough if you are indeed pregnant anyway.

I suggest getting the test, taking it and if it's negative just put it in your bag wrapped in a brown paper bag and put it in a dumpster somewhere or any public trash can. Now if it's positive that's a whole other story...

if you buy one, you can just go to the nearest mcdonald's and take it and throw it away there. it's not very romantic but it'll only take a minute or two...
