Ive been debating whether or not to post this for ages, if not appropriate please feel free to delete.

For almost a year I have had pains where i *think* my ovaries are. Whenever I cough, sneeze, move suddenly (i.e. sit up, start running, fall out of bed etc) I get a sharp pain on my left side. Sex is very painful, it feels like my partner is hitting a 'ceiling' when doing his thing, I then have to blow the whistle on the game and call it a day!

I dont really have any other symptoms, problems, issues. And other than coughing, sneezing, moving suddenly and sex, it doesnt really bother me.

Any ideas, suggestions, tips (or sympathy!) will be greatly recieved   xx

my first question of course is: have you seen a gynecologist? sexual pain is one of those symptoms that can be nothing, or it can be serious (the latter in my case *sigh*), so its definitely neccesary to see the doctor.

Yes, exactly. It could be trivial, or it could be very serious. I'd suggest the doctor (and also making sure not to let a doctor poo-poo the case. It's pain! It's not "all in your head"!), too.

seconded! its not because you need to be more ready, nor is it because you aren't wet enough nor should you accept "Well come back in a few months if you are still in pain."

The "ceiling" your boyfriend is hitting when having sex is most likely your cervix. If he's doing this repeatedly, it's going to bruise it!

I've bruised my cervix before during sex and it hurt so badly to even sit up in bed, bend over, cough, etc. After that, I made sure it never happened again!

I can only imagine that your frequent pain is your cervix and is probably a result of bruising it during sex.

You may just have a naturally low cervix.

Like the first poster said, have you ever ask your gynocologist? You should be going to one on a regular basis especially since you're sexually active. During your next appointment, ask about it.

definitely go to the doctor. PID is serious business. pain is an indicator that something is wrong. don't ignore it, get help. this is a medical issue.

I would definitely go to a doctor about that. It could be cysts or PID or something serious. Sure it could be nothing serious, but the fact that there are some serious things it could be definitely warrants a trip to the doctor.
