Scheduling problems are likely to arise!

I have tickets booked to see mah boy for 15th of july, which is a good date because I finish (or SHOULD finish) my period 2 days before then, but 2 days before I'm due to leave, I (should) get my period again.
This would suck MAJORLY, as I'm super heavy my first two days and would prefer not to deal with it while i'm there.

Are there any ways that I can delay my period a day or two?
I was thinking about a mooncup or a similar contraption, I was going to look into them if this wasn't possible (and because they just seem like a really cool idea) but I'd still prefer not to be crampy and hormonal while I'm there. This would make me likely to cry way more than I usually would when I left, which wouldn't be very fun for anybody.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

are you on hormonal birth control?

just so you know, you can't have sex with a mooncup in. i'm not sure if that's your plan or not, but the only cups you can have sex with in are insteads- and my personal opinion of those is that they stink. they leak.

good luck!

congrats on the weightloss. i lost 65 lbs once, its not an easy thing!

the first thing is- you're not automatically going to gain weight on HBC. some do some don't.

Also, i'm assuming that, your weight loss is not random, that you've intentionally lost it. When HBC does make people gain weight, its because the hormones just make people want to eat more, not because of any other thing. What i'm basically saying is that if you have a good handle on your eating habits now, you should be able, even if o you're one of the people predisposed to gaining weight on HBC, you already have the skills and he drive to not gain weight. then you could stack your pills (or nuvaring!) and hopefully skip your periods.

The HBC could make your periods a lot less crappy. It helped me a lot with my cramps.

I had no leakage problems with Insteads except when I tried to have sex with them in-- that bumped it out of place and led to all kinds of unpleasantries.

If you're using HBC you could skip the placebo pills and just take active pills for 42 days straight. You should test this out before you go though, to make sure you don't have any spotting.

If you're not on HBC it's entirely possible that your period may rearrange itself sometime between now and July, meaning you may not know for sure until closer to the vacation date (if at all) if you're going to be on your period during your trip.

Oh, I so know what you mean... like when my boyfriend and I were able to go back home for holidays and see each other... but anyway... Also, this might not even pose as a great solution since I'm pretty irregular anyway. (My cycle fluctuates, like... 34 days, then 32, 37... Or something crazy like that that isn't perfectly predictable.) Oh, and it's not the healthiest way to go about it either, but: if I don't eat or sleep regularly enough, it messes with my (already crazy) cycle. For instance, staying up all night, or sleeping for eighteen hours straight on a weekend when I don't have to do anything... But yeah, it really messes with you. Haha. (Unless you're used to that, I guess.)

(I mean, it sort of worked, I think. I was expecting my period soon-ish, and I think I managed to fend it off for a couple of days, but it caught up with me. The boyfriend was not pleased. xP)

You did say "any" suggestions, but I don't really recommend my unhealthy practices, lol.

I've willed my period to stay away for a couple days. I just told it to hold off until the weekend was over, and put some energy towards it, and it worked. =)

I keep hearing about people doing this. I had no idea that was actually possible.

Teach me your secrets!

Just my $0.02... but stress can be a major factor in late/missed periods. So maybe being super anxious about having your period causes it to be late?

*resolves to agonize constantly about periods so as never to have one again*

When I was on the pill, I got rid of my cramps, less PMS, perfectly regular periods for the first time, and better skin. And I could delay my periods when I needed to. You don't have to delay it for a whole three weeks, you can just delay it a few days (at least with the kind I took, it's called Trionetta in Sweden, don't know about the US). So it's worth trying. If the first kind you get don't work for you, it's worth trying another brand, they vary a lot. You'll have time to experiment before July!

Taking your HBC pills consecutively, without taking the sugar pills works for skipping a period. You have to be REALLY EXTREMELY CAREFUL though to take them AT THE SAME TIME EVERYDAY! Otherwise you will end up with pretty heavy spotting and it has (in my experience and the experiences of several of my friends) taken up to three weeks to get back to normal.
