V-Day and the Vagina Monologues - a town near you?

SEATTLE -- February 12-14: The Vagina Monologues at the University of Washington. Performances start at 7pm in the HUB Auditorium. First-come first-seated, admission is free for students and staff.

A part of the proceeds will go to the fantastic organization Home Alive (you may remember it being mentioned in Inga Muscio's classic book Cunt.) I will be there for all three performances because I work with Home Alive -- if you plan to attend, please stop by the Home Alive table and say hi! It would be beyond cool to meet some new VPers!

but hey, at least this year there's a lot more performances in florida. last year i was going to have to drive at least 2 hours to see one.

Our Vagina Monologues isn't until March 20-22 (Go Women's History Month!). For V-day itself, we're having tables in the D-hall to sign hearts (red if you've been abused, pink if you know someone or you're supporting those who have) and they're going to be put up on the walls. The play is a huge deal for us. I'm at Longwood University in Farmville, VA (about an hour S-W of Richmond), so we're right smack in the middle of the Bible belt in a tiny, conservative, very 1950s town. So if anyone is in the area, come on out and support us.

I know that there's a show in kingston, i don't know much about it, except that it costs $25.

in New Paltz, students are putting it on at SUNY. it's free! friday, 2/14, 8:30. 2/15, 8:30, 2/16, 2:30. shows are first come, first serve. i know the members of the organization are selling vagina-friendly stuff (cloth pads, etc), and there are tons of raffles. all proceeds go to a charity in poughkeepsie (i forget which one... ugh, memory).
