First time post, so I'm a bit nervous, but you guys seem helpful.
Since this morning, I've been experiencing some strange pain in my urethra. It's not in my vulva, but directly in my urethra. I don't have to urinate anymore than usual, and when I do, it doesn't hurt particularly - it is uncomfortable, but that is because of the pain to start with. It is no better or worse after peeing or not. I also had some pelvic pain, mildly, this morning, which has happened before, but isn't something serious or regular.
I am not sexually active, so that rules out STIs, and I don't have any other symptoms so to speak, other than mild fatigue (but that could be lack of sleep). It isn't a horrible pain, it is just sort of lingering. I also started using a lubricant for the first time about a week ago, but haven't used it in a couple of days, if that might be a mitigating factor.
To me, this sounds like a UTI, but I'm seeing what any secondary opinions might be before bringing it to my mother. She's a nurse, and I'm not uncomfortable telling her, but I am uncomfortable with all of the doctors in my very small, very conservative town. I think it's just a urine analysis to confirm anyway, but the idea of having to have an exam makes me incredible squeamish. Thoughts?
