Hello all, I'm new here, first time posting. I was curious about two things, one more serious than the other. First off, I realized recently (as in during the past hour or so) that I really bond with myself during my period. I feel like it's my time to let my body rest as much as it can, and just listen to it and do what it wants me to do for a few days. In fact, it probably helps that my bf pampers me as well, letting me sleep in, being all sweet and lovey! I can't say I enjoy it, given the massive cramping that accompanies the first day and the general feeling of lethargy that I get, but I appreciate the me-time, and like to let strenuous activities pass me by when my body is so strained (including sex, though definately not cuddling). I don't know, I guess I was just wondering if anyone else feels a deep connection with their body during their period, or if I'm just being weird?

Big question: Is there any evidence supporting or denying that endo and cysts (ovarian and uterine) are not related? Hereditary? Nearly all the women on my mom's side of the family have had cysts (both cancerous and benign) and endo. My mom is getting a hysterectomy this summer, as her cysts are so large and numerous that she and her doctor think it's the best course of action, and are hoping to also relieve her endo. She's now worried about my sister and me possibly getting endo and/or cysts (and to be honest, so am I). I was hoping that someone has been luckier than I in finding stats or studies about this?

Thanks!
