Hi All, I've noticed that over the months of weekly treatments for HPV that the times that I am able to keep the area super dry I have better results after my treatments. The warts are on my peritoneal & rectal area. It's constantly moist there and I've used corn starch and some other powders, ending up with a nasty yeast infection. Do u know other ways to keeping it dry without taping my butt cheeks open and sleeping in a hammock. This is getting progressively worse, to the point where the doc is saying no more treatment, go in for laser :(

the only thing I can think of is going to the bathroom and patting down the area with a dry cloth frequently. Sorry I couldn't be more help :(

Maybe buy pads and wear them all the time, even to the point of... kind of keeping them up in the cracks?

At least all of the moisture would be absorbed.

Pads(especially conventional ones) often make you sweat more though, so im not sure that would be the best idea. Maybe a cloth pad could help, but i think anything extra in the underwear area wont help with sweatiness.

To the OP, i'm sure you've heard all this before but i thought i'd give it a shot. Make sure to wear only cotton underwear, or try and not wear any at all. If your not comfortable with that during the day, wear nothing on the bottom at night so it can all breath a bit. Other then that i don't really have much advice, sorry!
Laser treatments probably sound like a pretty scary aspect at this point, but think about it this way, it may provide you with some relief right? Maybe some of the great people here will have advice or could tell you what it is like. Sorry that i couldn't be much help. I hope you get some relief soon.

I'm not sure if you've tried this, and I'm not sure how likely it would be to trigger a YI for you (I'm YI prone, but corn starch does not trigger them for me). But, have you tried Monistat Soothing Care Medicated Powder (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=139252&catid=33587&trx=PLST-0-CAT&trxp1=33587&trxp2=139252&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-CAT)?

I use it both in the crease between my labia majora and my thighs as well as under my breasts and armpits (basically anywhere the underwire of my bra goes) as moisture absorption. The active ingredient is zinc oxide, and I must say, it's way more effective for me than is corn starch or any other kind of powder. In turn, this means I use less of it.

While I haven't developed any YIs from it, I also haven't been using it in areas where I think one would be likely to develop.

Just be careful you aren't *too* dry. You could cause some irritation that can lead to your skin breaking down and possibly opening up and bleeding. That puts you at risk for infection. Good luck with everything!

I suggest you blow dry those areas (blow drier on the cool and low settings) after you bathe/shower/sweat alot. I haven't done it, but it might be something to try.
