So, my doctor put me on progesterone because she wants to thin out my uterine lining. I have had an IUD for 2 years and also have PCOS. I have spotted pretty much non-stop for the last 2 years and am often unclear as to whether I'm having a period or not. My doctor said we might need to remove the IUD if the spotting didn't stop, but the progesterone has caused it to stop. She wants me on it for 21 days and then off for 7. Yes, why not take birth control? But progesterone-only pills aren't as effective and we're hoping this isn't a permanent thing. She told me to call if it makes me feel weird or anything. What kind of wierd? I don't know.
I've been taking it about a week and the past few days I have felt like crap-- very tired but unable to sleep, depressed, nauseous, and I am also having pain during orgasm-- in a way I usually only experience during pregnancy. Does anyone know if this is normal with progesterone?
