Dove and Jergens both make a really cool form of sunless tanner, that isn't an unnatural sudden orange color. It's the stuff that you use as a regular lotion every day all over, and it will gradually give you a literally natural tan.
It rocks. That's what I would recommend, as one pale person to another.
