3 day old tampon

vaginapaginayikes! Last weekend I stopped bleeding, but was still spotting. I put a tampon in either Monday or Tuesday and completely forgot about it until today. I just went to the bathroom and while wipping, I found a tampon. (It had no blood on it) I took it out immediately and made an appointment to see my Gyno on Tuesday to make sure I'm okay.
Last night, I went out to dinner and very soon after just a few sips of my drink I felt VERY drunk. After I got home I got pretty sick and today my abs were sore. This all makes sense now even though this is the first time I've made this mistake. Sitting here typing this, I'm dizzy.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? What should I do now?
