Bring your mom or someone for support. Honestly, THAT's what helped me the most! Having my mom there to hold my hand (helped with getting my IUD too).
I'd suggest taking Aleve before hand instead of Motrin. It seemed to help me. Also, don't pay attention and look at the instruments and what is going on.
Breathing techniques are a lifesaver too. And as a previous poster mentioned, call ahead and see if maybe you can get something stronger painkiller wise.
