ive read all the posts about cryotherapy, colopscopy, etc, but i still have some questions...
okay so I posted here a few weeks ago asking about colopscopy, how painful was it, etc. the nurse said it wasnt going to hurt too much, and just to take a few motrin before i went in. which i did. i took 800mg of motrin. well i went and had it done, and it was extremely painful. the motrin didnt do sh!t. i cried alot. i have been praying to get a call telling me that it was nothing.
So this morning i got a phonecall letting me know that the results came back still as Low Grade Dysplasia, and they want to do cryotherapy. Needless to say I am very scared that this is going to hurt way worse, and i dont think i can handle it. The nurse says that I need to get it done so that it doesn't progress into more moderate dysplasia. she also said that they use a local anesthesia, lydocaine or something, on the cervix, before doing the cryotherapy, but i dont know if i trust that enough to ease the pain. if i end up having to do this i think im going to take a couple vicodin or oxycodone (if i can get my hands on some)
I have been researching online alot about this, and ive been reading that something like 80% of cases of mild dysplasia will disappear without treatment. But i dont know if i should take that risk or not. I really should call up and talk to the Dr. more I guess and ask questions.
So my question for those of you who have had both colopscopy and cryotherapy, which hurts worse? and have any of you had mild/low grade dysplasia, done nothing, and have it go away? or have any of you had the laser treatment instead of cryo? im not sure if the laser option is available, i may need to go somewhere else for that.
thank you for any information or advice.
