Nipple Piercings

I know this is a little Off-Topic but could anyone recommend a good community on LJ to learn more about nipple piercings? or does anyone want to tell me about their own experiences? Im just curious about the process, how much it hurts (tho its different for everyone). I don't plan on having any children, so Im not worried about Breast feeding but I heard it doesn't really affect that (though all piercings have risks of complications).

When I got mine done, my piercer gave me a sea salt spray. You can also use non-iodized sea salt mixed with plain tap water (until it's about the saltiness of tears) and use that. I would soak a paper towel or tissue and just hold it on there for a few minutes to let it soak in.

As for depth, my piercer made sure my nipples were super hard (she pinched them and stuff, it was kind of weird, but she's cool) and then pierced really far back on the nipple itself... right at the base.

Barbells should be slightly longer than the width of your nipple itself. They should be close in size but slightly bigger to allow for swelling.

do you count the areola as part of the nipple when piercing? I mean, is that actually considered nipple? I guess that sounds dumb.

Yeah, a lot of piercers carry the spray, or you can just buy non-iodized salt at the grocery store. I keep some around just in case.
