I've searched the memories but couldn't find anything.

I shave, and I always leave a little and turn it into a design to keep things interesting. I've done a landing strip, a downward arrow (you know, just in case he ever got lost hehe) and a heart. And now I need something new, because the heart got kind of old. I've thought about a lightning bolt but I'm just not feeling it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Heh. I love the idea of a downwards arrow. I do not love the idea of attempting to shave the cleavage of a heart (don't pretend you don't know what I'm refering to!)!

I was so proud of the arrow!! ;) It wasn't hard once I got used to it, I never cut myself or anything, it would just be uneven sometimes.

What do you use to get the pattern? I have a hard enough time just getting the hairs shaved normally ): I'd love to do shapes sometime though! Maybe a happy face? Or eyes with the vag as a mouth :x

The first time I did it, I let the hair grow in for about a week (I was shaving it all before that) and then I drew the design on with eyeliner. It's easy to get off once you finish shaving but it stays on while you're working. You could always cut it the shape out of cardboard or something and then trace it.

I used eyeliner to draw the shape on so I'd know what it would look like beforehand and it made the actual shaving a lot easier because I just followed the lines instead of trying to guess.

I use eyeliner to draw the shape on so I know what I'm doing once I get into the shower. And I use conditioner to shave, it's more moisturizing plus it's easier to see the lines! :)

How do you do it without massive numbers of ingrown hairs? SO has made a request wrt to oral sex, and I'd like to accommodate it.

do you mean shaving in general? Or specifically with shapes?
For shaving in general, use shaving cream, shave with the grain if you're afraid of irritating things, use Bikini Zone or Tend Skin afterwards, and exfoliate for the next couple days with a loofah.

I use conditioner to shave instead of regular shaving cream, it moisturizes so much better and leaves the area much smoother. I'm lucky in that I don't get a lot of ingrown hairs, but as the poster below said, shave with the grain and then against, trim first if the hair is really long so you don't get the razor clogged, and use a new razor for a closer shave that will hopefully not irritate you.
