Sometimes I'll be swollen for a couple days after a sex session, for any number of reasons. Like, it was rough, which could mean both the friction externally and internally and the external... well pounding is the only word I can think of. Anyway with hard enough pounding you could have lightly bruised the labias, which could make it swell. Or, just friction. Or, due to some positions where there is more pressure on certain areas over others (like spooning, where at least in my case, there is distinct pressure on the 'top' lips, and then that side will feel bruised for a day or so if it got too rough).
Obviously, follow the advice rearding the UTI aspect, but as for the swelling, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
I used to just stick out the burning and the swelling, and I discovered that a little vagisil makes it all clear up in no time. Just a disclaimer, please do not use vagisil to cover up a yeast infection or UTI, you have to actually treat those (meaning, don't go, Oh I have a yeast infection, I'll use vagisil... it helps it feel better but doesn;t solve the problem)
Ok, using that anaology, I just have to say, the image popped into my head: Girl drops a giant glob of food right on her boobs. Wipes it off, covers it up with a sweater. Can't see the stain, but the stain is still there, the underlying problem has not been solved.
