I am not entirely sure of any risks by using a cup when you're not one your period except may vaginal tissue irritation or even the possibility of wearing down the vaginal tissue (like when using a pessary) but that would only have after years of daily use.
I could see that it might cause a increased risk of infection because the fluid is not able to escape and the vaginal cleaning mechansism could be slightly disruputed. Also, I wouldn't suggest using a cup daily because the vagina needs to "air out" in order to stay healthy.
But again, not proven, these are just my thoughts.
