vaginapagina | missed periods and zits... PCOS? Or just side effects of stopping b/c? (Reply)

Ok, I stopped NuvaRing last July. I started it again in October, stopped again in November. I did not like that I kept getting yeast infections, my IBS got worse, and my psoriasis really flared up. I also lost my libido entirely.

Off b/c, I feel WONDERFUL. Ok, so I have adult acne. But I've seen worse, and it's much less annoying than psoriasis. Ok, so I have a tiny bit of a mustache. Everybody in my family has one, male and female. It's a tradition. And waxing is no big deal.

But I've skipped 2 periods. Granted, I was under huge stress for the first one, and quite lousily sick for the second one. But I'd NEVER missed a period before. I'd never even been more than 11 days late before, and usually I was a plus or minus three days kind of girl.

Nonetheless, could my missed periods be due to stopping birth control rather than PCOS?

Time for a second opinion, or at least a blood test, I think. I don't like the feeling of being on birth control and I don't want to be put on it just because I'm a fat chick who missed two periods.

Please tell me any interesting stories of side effects from birth control, and especially side effects from stopping birth control!
