Douching/Washing

vaginapaginaI'm VERY new on the NuvaRing. I just started yesterday (day 2 of my period). I was wondering if it's okay to do an inner wash with the ring. Regular soap and water. I heard douches were bad and can increase the chances of a yeast infection.
If I do an internal wash after my period (after being all icky) will that wash out the hormones?
