I had an absess on my outer labia around Christmas last year. It got very large (the size of a golf ball) overnight, and I had to go to the ER. I had a few other absesses on my body before (on my chin, leg, and stomach) and they healed by themselves. My doctor told me not to shave my pubic hair anymore. It is now almost May and I've been keeping everything well groomed, but it's driving me crazy. Any suggestions? I was thinking laser hair removal...that's what the doctor recommended. Has anyone else had a labial absess and gotten laser hair removal?

Why don't you try trimming it instead of shaving -- I use hair clippers to trim and they work very well.

try a beard trimmer instead of shaving. That's whta I use, and I can get really close to the skin without irritating it and getting all those nasty red bumps.
