tender breasts?

Sorry I am not sure where to look to find this out but, what does it feel like to have tender breasts when you are pregnant? and how long after you conceive do they start to feel tender? I think might have tender breasts, but I don't know because I have never had them before, even before my period. I sorta feel pregnant, but it could just be my imagination wanting me to be.

Pregnancy symptoms do not typically start until 4-6 weeks pregnant (after your period is missed).

Tender breasts are very sensitive to the touch. Its hard to describe but any number of things can cause it, including an impending period.

well my last period about 41/2 weeks ago was really light light and odd, because my period is usually always the same, but this one was three days long and I only needed to wear a panty liner, and I haven't got my period yet again, but my boobs have just been feeling really odd, but not sensitive to the touch. Yeah I dunno, as I said I will take another prego testin a couple of days if my period is a no show, thanks heaps though :-) I have also been getting periodish cramps for the last three days, but no period, its just weird because I dont usually have these proplems (cramps and weird feeling boobs) before my period. :-)

If your last period was odd then I would go ahead and consider testing again. It is possible that coupled with the cramping that you may be having an early misscarriage.

Or, it was implantation spotting, and the cramping is normal. I had cramping quite early on with my son.

Could tender breasts be an early sign? As in, what if someone has not missed their period yet, but have extremely tender breasts (more tender than normally right before their period).

yes but also as someone else just posted tender breasts can just be a sign of PMS or an impending period.

I rarely get tender breasts but this past period I had VERY tender breasts to the point that even my bra hurt yet my period showed up exactly as scheduled. So its hard to say definately that its going to be a sign for me that tender breasts are a sign of pregancy. Obviously this is anecdotal but it certainly shows the variability.

I had tender breasts for a about week before my missed period when I got pregnant but since I usually get sore breasts when I have PMS I didn't think anything about it until I actually missed my period and got a positive on a preg test. But PMS can cause tender breasts too just like pregnancy, its those hormones.

When I was pregnant with my daughter my boobs felt 'full' if that makes any sense kind of bloated. And they where sore to the touch. I couldnt sleep on my stomach. However I just went off BC and am definitely not pregnant and now off and on before my period I get sore breasts. Also when I noticed the soreness due to being pregnant my bra had become tight. I think I was about 4 weeks along when I had these symptoms.

i got on birth control because i was.. horribly irregular..
and my breast soreness varies from cycle to cycle.

like this month ? i was fine and dandy. my period came and went and my boobs didn't swell at all..

but two months ago ?

my breasts went up an entire CUP size and stayed like that for a week before i got my period.. and i was miserable.

is THAT weird or what ?

If you're trying to figure out whether you're pregnant or not just by having (or not having) tender breasts, it's pretty much impossible to tell from symptoms alone because they're identical to PMS symptoms. The only sure way to tell is to take a pregnancy test.
