Hi everyone! I'm working on a project at my school called The Breast
Monologues. We decided that the Vagina Monologues were fabulous, but
it's time to talk about breasts, too. So I figured, what better group
of people to ask for stories than VaginaPagina! I'm looking for a lot
of voices to contribute, which we'll then put together into play format.
Your exact statement may not be used; we make take some creative
liberties with the wording. I'm interested in breast feeding, breast
augmentation and reduction, breast cancer, first bra stories, and any
other breast-related topics. Since we're a group of college-aged women, I'm especially interested in getting the voices of women of all ages.
We want guys' thoughts on breasts, too. Also, I've put our basic
questions below.
REMEMBER: I am asking for stories to TELL ON STAGE. No one will be
named, but if you'd rather not have your story told at all, please let
me know. I can also change details, if that would make you feel more
comfortable. Thanks everyone!
Basic Questions (short answer):
1) What do your breasts mean to you?
2) Do your breasts have a name?
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
5) What breasts run in your family?
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
7) What do you breasts like?

Basic Questions (short answer):
1) What do your breasts mean to you?
2) Do your breasts have a name?
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
5) What breasts run in your family?
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
7) What do you breasts like?
Boobies!
Date: 2006-02-06 11:34 pm (UTC)I love my breasts. Every once and a while I find myself just holding them. They're perfect to me. One of the top reasons I have for loving being a women is my breasts.
2) Do your breasts have a name?
The Girlies.
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
I have cystic breasts, which I didn't know until last autumn when I lost weight and had a breast cancer scare. That was terrifying.
Story here: http://auraesque.livejournal.com/202183.html
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
I was waiting for them since I was 10 or 11. I would look at myselfin the mirror each day to see how they were doing. I was so excited when I was 13 and they really started to develop. Yay boobies!
5) What breasts run in your family?
B-cups that are set wide apart, so cleavage is minimized, but they're fantasticly picturesque. Me? I ate a lot of hormone-filled hamburgers, and I'm a C-cup.
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
I think they'd cheer a lot. Like "Yayyy Holly! We love you!"
7) What do your breasts like?
They like it when I don't wear a bra to bed (I like it too). They like being shown off in strapless dresses. They like to rest on tables that are just the right height, although sometimes they act like tables themselves when I spill a drink or chips and it gets caught in my bra. They don't like that so much. They like to be held when I'm running up stairs. They probably like chocolate too.
Re: Boobies!
Date: 2006-02-07 11:31 pm (UTC)Oh my god, really? Don't be afraid to smack me if you were joking. Does such a thing exist? How do you get it? Can I have some?
Then again, I'm just impatient. The other women in my family have C-cup breasts, so my Bs will probably get there someday. I should probably wait before I try that or who knows what will happen.
P.S. I hold mine when I run up or down stairs, too. Teehee.

Date: 2006-02-06 11:44 pm (UTC)For me, my breasts have always been something to be proud of - my declaration of womanhood. To be showcased, pampered, teased, and loved. Something to give nourishment, and receive pleasure.
2) Do your breasts have a name?
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Haha.
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
One of my favorite medical memories is when my OBGYN first showed me how to give myself breast exams, which she did by demonstrating on me first, and remarked "You've got such soft breasts!". So I guess that would mean that they're soft.. Nice and soft and warm.
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
I started developing them at a very young age. From the moment they came into being, I was pretty thrilled, and couldn't wait to showcase them. I still remember my first bra - it was white with multi-colored swirls on it, and a little white plastic clasp in the front. I never had a training bra, but I can remember my first real bra perfectly. I even remember when I first got it, showing it to my cousin, to which she responded "What a cool bra!! All my mom ever buys me are white or tan ones!"
5) What breasts run in your family?
Every woman in my family has large, somewhat long breasts naturally. Although they're somewhat long, we all look fantastic with a proper bra.
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
"Oh, stop working! Don't you want to play with us?" :D
7) What do you breasts like?
Not being confined, or if confinement is necessary, being perfectly presented in something lacey, silky, and sexy. However, after a long day of being in the spotlight, I do believe they're more than happy to hang free in a nice loose t-shirt!

Date: 2006-02-07 12:22 am (UTC)my boobs are power. i love showing off my cleavage. i absolutely love the moment in erin brocovich when he asks her how shes gonna do something and she says "theyre called boobs ed". thats how i feel. i love feeling cocky about my breasts (even if part of that is just the word cocky being applied to my boobs lol)
2) Do your breasts have a name?
last year i spent the night in a hot tub with three gay boys. my breasts are now named ponce and de leon because they are my fountain of youth.
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
theyre big and beautiful and perfect. theyre firm and smooth and i love it when im kinda cold so my nipples are perky and i have little goosebumps all over them.
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
probably when i was around thirteen. i was very skinny and i was upset bc i thought they made me look fat even though they were only an a cup. when i was about sixteen they made their way to a b and i was happy with them. in college they went up to a c and i started to get really proud of them. ive never been happy with the rest of my body, but my breasts are perfect. ive come to the conclusion that i would rather have my belly and my perfect breasts than lose my belly and lose the boobs with it.
5) What breasts run in your family?
all shapes and sizes. my mom considered getting implants til she got pregnant with my sister. my sister had small perky athletic boobs til she quit sports. now we all have a c cup with varying degrees of sagginess.
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
"hey what are you looking up there for? were where the funs at!" they like attention you see. :)
7) What do you breasts like?
pinching and rubbing :) they like the cold. they like being shown off. they like hugs and kisses and hormones. they like snazzy bras and guys t shirts.

Date: 2006-02-07 12:24 am (UTC)1) What do your breasts mean to you? They are the part of me that will never change and will always be perfect, no matter what. They are big and have always been the most feminine thing about me.

Date: 2006-02-07 01:00 am (UTC)They mean I am a woman. I love that theyre there and although somtimes I stare at the mirror they are small, I love them. They make me.
2) Do your breasts have a name? No, sadly. My ex boyfriend wanted to name them Cheech and Chong and I was really offended because a)theyre [C&C] male and b)I dont do drugs.
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
Physically they are little lumps of love.
But if these babies had minds they would be totally into bondage. They are the only part of my body [err, mostly] that can tolerate pain. They like to be bit, slapped, and sucked on until they feel theyre gonna fall off.
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
When I was in the fourth grade, I would stuff my training bra and dance around my room listening to music. I always admired the line that appears on a shirt between two breasts when theyre big enough. I never hit that point until grade 9, but I stopped stuffing when I realized that they were infact, growing.
5) What breasts run in your family?
Large breasts. Unfortunately I am the only girl in my family [both sides even] that hasnt had a growth spirt. *shakes fist in jealousy*
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
"My god, its been so long since Ive gotten any action!!"
7) What do your breasts like?
Pain. And hickies. But also they like to be squeezed gently and massaged and all they really want is someone to play with them.

Date: 2006-02-07 01:38 am (UTC)1) What do your breasts mean to you?
They remind me that I'm a woman (as I had a hysterectomy, they're my only "female" organs left). They're also a real pain (literally). But... I love the way they help me fill out a sweater! They look pretty.
2) Do your breasts have a name?
Nope.
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
I have fibrocystic breast disease. So, my breasts tend to be very needy for attention (heat or cold to help with swelling, lotions to prevent chafing). They're also very painful.
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
They started growing, painfully, when I was about 7.
5) What breasts run in your family? Tiny ones on my mom's side (she's an AA cup), and large ones on my dad's side. I'm a 36D, myself.
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
"Don't touch me! Or... touch me nicely. I like that."
7) What do your breasts like?
They don't particularly like to be touched, because of the pain. The occasional gentle massage is good (whether by me or by a partner), because it helps to ease the swelling. Other than that, they like to be left alone!

Date: 2006-02-07 07:40 am (UTC)They remind me of the joys and not-so-joys of being a woman and the experiences that I've had because of them.
2) Do your breasts have a name?
Nope, though they do have a personality.
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
Sort of like a security blanket, only more like security pillows :)
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
I was 9 when I first started developing breasts.
5) What breasts run in your family?
Pretty big on both sides. Mine are 44DDD.
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
Probably something like "I'm sorry for bumping into you".
7) What do you breasts like?
No bras and silky camisoles.

Date: 2006-02-07 08:57 am (UTC)1) What do your breasts mean to you?
Honestly, I hate them. Very much so. I like my girlfriend's, but I hate mine.
2) Do your breasts have a name?
Nope.
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
Too heavy; encumbering. They jiggle when I run (even in a sports bra) or when I do karate.
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
I first noticed them growing (because they hurt) when I was nine-ish. They started being a pain when I was twelve and started my period.
5) What breasts run in your family?
I have next to no women in my family; I couldn't really say. My mum's are average size, I guess. I don't know what her bra size is.
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
"Oh my God, get me off this boy's chest."
7) What do you breasts like?
They hate being touched and are almost always cold. It's not fun.

Date: 2006-02-07 09:06 am (UTC)I don't really know what they mean to me, I've never really thought about it because I've never really liked them very much.
2) Do your breasts have a name?
Nope.
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
Small, sore, apparently soft (so my boyfriend claims), with sort of hard and tender centers.
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
I started developing breasts when I was five or six.
5) What breasts run in your family?
Fairly large ones. My mother had G's or H's, my grandmothers on both sides had either C's or D's, same with my mother's half-sister and my aunt on my father's side. I'm hoping this skipped my generation and I won't get a growth spurt when I'm in my 20s.
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
I'm not really thought about that... Maybe something like, "Touch me too hard and she gets it" or something?
7) What do you breasts like?
Being without a bra, loose t-shirts, biting, massages, gentle squeezing, not being bumped into things.

Date: 2006-02-07 10:26 am (UTC)The only positive things they mean to me are in terms of other people. To me, they're just fairly insensitive droopy lumps of fat attached to my chest that manage to get in the way of everything despite being B-cups. To my two closest friends, they're just the perfect size and feel and all that, and the one I've actually been involved with seems to adore them. So I put up with them, because they're kinda cute and not usually too annoying...
2) Do your breasts have a name?
Nope. Nothing besides "them".
3) Describe the way your breasts feel. (physically or emotionally)
Soft and squishy if you're gentle, but lumpy and bumpy if you squeeze enough. Other than that, very little. They're sort of the Jack Russell Terriers of breasts - smallish and cute but pretty damn pointless.
4) When did you first notice you had breasts?
11ish, when I realised I had them and my friends didn't. (I developed earlier than everyone else.)
5) What breasts run in your family?
Rather saggy. There doesn't seem to be a common size or shape.
6) What would your breasts say if they could speak?
"What? Oh, you're touching me again. Okay, that's nice."
7) What do you breasts like?
To be held comfortably, in something soft and cozy, whether a nice soft cotton bra (sports-style bras, preferably) or a partner's hands. But don't forget a little strength and pressure and oh-so-nice pain on the tips...
