bacterial infection back with a vengeance.

ok. so here's the deal. i hope you can help me with this, and my apologies if this is TMI.

so about a month ago, I noticed a really strong fishy smell and alot of white discharge coming from down there.
i went to my doc, and he prescribed something called flagyl.
he didn't really tell me what it was that I had, only that it was something bacterial.
so i took the meds, and it went away.
for a little while.

now it seems to be back with a vengeance.
i am in a sexual monogamous relationship, and we are both STD free.
(or at least we were when we were both tested in September.....)

any idea on what this is/whats causing it/what I should do?

He was probably treating you for bacterial vaginosis. You might just need a stronger/longer course of Flagyl. It's not a big deal. It's just something that happens sometimes when the happy balance of healthy bacteria (and yeast) gets out of balance.

Call your doctor and explain what's happening. I'm not sure about BV but your partner may need to be treated as well, so ask about that too. They might have you come back for an exam, but they might just call in a prescription for you. They'll let you know what you need to do. :)

I was just given Flagyl for BV a few days ago and just started it last night because I'd had alcohol two nights ago. I hope that my BV goes away once the pills are done - but best of luck to you!

He could have the infection and is passing it to you. Or if he's putting unclean fingers or penis in you or toys that haven't been properly cleaned, you can get it from that, too.
