So I started my period yesterday in the morning and for the first time in forever I was actually excited because I got to use my Diva Cup for the first time! Following some of the tips I found here, I used lube and the C fold and inserted my Diva with relatively little trouble.

Well, untill I stood up. Then I found that the stem was pinching me inside and was VERY uncomfortable. Since I had to be at work, I didn't have time to fix it so I took it out and wore a pad all day :(

But when I got home, I trimmed the stem way down and tried it again. I wore it all evening and overnight and then took it out this morning...

I must say I am WAY impressed. I had no leakage and insertion (which was the thing I was most worried about) has turned out to be much easier than I originally thought. It's comfortable and discreet, and I feel a lot cleaner than with tampons. Also, I typically cramp really, really badly the first 2 days of my period and this time, I've hardly cramped at all! It's been really wonderful.

Oh, and this morning I had an orgasm in my sleep so my vagina must approve of the Diva too ;P

I just wanted to share my pleasant experience. I'm so glad that I decided to get a Diva after reading all the good things about them here - I don't think I'll ever go back to pads and tampons!

One weird thing I noticed was that when I first insert my Diva, I cramp for a few minutes afterward, then it goes away. They're not bad cramps by any means but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this.

question- what do you do in public bathrooms?
i just got a diva cup last month, and i love everything about it, except the fact that it's messy to empty. if i have a bathroom to myself, then i can rinse the cup in the sink and there's no trouble, but if i'm just working with a single stall, then i have to forego emptying it and hope that i'm not on too heavy a flow day.
last cycle i only had one instance of leaking, but one instance is enough to make me wary.
