Anytime I get the slightest sensation of a yeast infection, I use OTC treatments. This keeps it from being full-blown. You may have to use the 7 day treatment just to be sure to knock it out. The longer you wait, the worse and more uncomfortable the infection may get. As the above poster suggests, I also request a prescription for Diflucan each time I get a antibiotics prescription. And taking acidophilous supplements and garlic supplements as well. The garlic remedy is putting a clove of garlic in your vagina. Some say to wrap it in gauze, but I just put it up there. It knocked out a yeast infection that would not go away even after two rounds of OTC treatments. I scheduled an appt. with my gyno. but after the garlic it was gone.
