antibiotics and acidophilus . . .

I'm on 500 mg 2x a day of both Biaxin and Cefuroxime for Lyme disease. It makes the yeast in my vagina very happy, as it kills off its mortal enemies know as the Vagidophilus Bacterius. Thus allowing the yeast to take over and rule my crotch.
So in order to stop the constant Vagidophilus genocide (perhaps genicide or gynocide?), and turn the tide against the foul yeast beasties, could I insert acidophilus capsules into enemy territory (aka my vagina)? Or would it somehow hurt the antibiotics I'm taking? I know I cannot take it orally too soon before or after taking the antibiotics (because then they don't work) and the less time I'm on these bad boys the better.
edit: Has anyone here taken Biaxin before? One of the most unpleasant side effects for me is the constant bad taste left in my mouth, unless I'm eating or drinking. This doesn't help my already sensitive stomach and is generally not cool. Does this go away after a certain amount of time?

My doctor told me the bad taste is really common, however I've never had a problem with it until the last couple days of my treatment. I haven't tried it because it's not bothered me enough, but my doctor swore by, & I'm not kidding here...chocolates. His nurses & his daughter who works the front desk all agreed, that when they've had the problem eating some of the choclate candies has helped to get rid of it for at least a while. I thought it sounded insane, but they all swore by it. Worth a shot, right?
