It could be a kidney infection. I know when I have one there is a dull pain aroudn the area you are talking about, usually it gets worse as time goes by. Since you don't think you ever fully got rid of the UTI, it could have moved to your kidneys. I'd go to the doctor ASAP. Doesn't matter if you are on your period, you should only have to provide a urine sample for a diagnosis.
