My roommate consistently uses what she calls "vaginal deodorant" aka FDS spray on her panties EVERYDAY.  I asked her why, and she said it's just something she does.

"It's like the same as putting deodorant on your pits - so you smell good."  But seriously, last time I checked, you can smell pit odor a tad stronger than vaginal odor - - - especially if you shower everyday. (which she does do)

Is this healthy?  Does it work???

Personally, I like my cunt to smell like CUNT and not like some sort of weird alcoholic flower. But then, I wear light unscented deoderant, too.

I spose if its on her panties and not actually on her girly bits it wouldn't be too bad....we all know 'feminine' products aren't healthy but I spose a little but of perfume on the panties wouldn't hurt. Each to their own.

Do you really think it's a good idea to put chemicals near your moist parts? Because you wouldn't stick that shit near your eyes, and... well... *shrugs*

The closest I use is deodorising pantiliners, but only on days when I know I'm going to be having heavy discharge (ie seeing my boyfriend ;) or right before/after my period), but I don't use any actual spray or anything, as I really don't want to find out if I'll get a yeast infection or whatnot. And unless her vagina has a particularly strong, unpleasant odor, I don't see why she should need anything.

My pussy should smell like a pussy and if it ever doesn't, well then it's time to worry.

Personally I wouldn't be putting that crap anywhere near my girly bits. She could always put some on the back of her knees or the from of her thighs if she really felt like she needed to.

No, it's not healthy to do that; the chemicals in the spray could give her a vaginal infection or mask the signs of an existing one.

If she thinks her vagina's smell is abnormal, that's a sign that she needs to go to a doctor and be checked for infection.

I used to do that for other reason. . . don't shave down there and sometimes with all the hair, it would get a little bit pitty, just like armpits. . . never did it to hide my girly smell, though.

It could potentially be problematic, if the chemicals in the spray irritated her vulva, but if she's been doing it for a while and hasn't experienced any problems, she's probably ok.

But, as someone said, if the vagina smells other than normal vagina, that's a symptom which should be investigated, not hidden. I suppose she smell fine and just be paranoid or uncomfortable with her natural smell, which is potentially awkward for her, but eh. Her choice.

Personally I'm fine with the smell of my vagina except for in extremely hot weather when it smells about as appealing, that is "not very", as any other enclosed bit on the body, and right before my period, when it can get pretty strong. But an unscented pantyliner changed during the day generally takes care of that. I think spritzing perfume on there would probably make it worse.

I wouldn't advise doing it. I did it once (with regular perfume *TOTAL no-no*) and it made it burn SO bad down there that I've never ever ever tried it again haha.
