Safely tucked away behind a cut for those who are squeamish about blood .

Got my period Sunday, right on time. Everything is normal. Until third period today, I go to the bathroom, change my pad, and I felt something huge come out of me. I looked in the toilet and there was a blood clot sitting there, it must have been as big as one of my fingers! I was so confused, and a little embarrassed that even after I had flushed the toilet there was still a little bit of blood at the bottom of the bowl. That never happens!

So what causes blood clots to be so big and beast like?

Don't worry, I get them all the time, it could just be a build up of lining if it continues them go and see the doctor.

I used to get them so bad I could constantly feel them pass all the time. I had them bad. So, considering I'm still alive and well, I guess they're "safe" and nothing too much to worry about. But, if it's bad; to the point it feels like you're only passing clots, you might want to see a doctor just in case of something.

If you're ever completely concerned about somthing, always go and see the doctor. They are lovely people and have seen it all before anyway so there's no harm in talking to them! Personally I agree with the above - there's nothing to worry about.

yeah, I think sometimes they even want to see the actual clots.. I get them because I take period inducing (sp)meds, it's rather gross sometimes so yeah, just gotta bare with em

I just stared taking Provera to induce my absentee periods...glad I read this so I know it's a normal thing ^_^

yeah, I take provera too... it's a pain in the ass, but meh LOL
