[identity profile] ncsu-lady.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] vaginapagina
So I know lots of people envy my clear skin.. on my face that is.

I have a HUGE pimple just to the left of my vaginal opening. I know without a doubt that it is not a STI. That said, I have also gotten pimples here before due to stress (of which i've been under alot of lately). So the problem is that this one is huge (about 2cm and protruding) and extremely painful. I've had it for a few days and last night attempted to pop it. Besides being incredibly painful only a little pus came out. This morning I got some more pus out but its still huge and extremely painful even when i'm just sitting around and doing nothing. I wouuld really just like to get this resolved so i'm asking if someone knows how to get this pimple GONE. It is so painful that i'm seriously considering calling my gyn for help even though it seems weird to want to have a pimple popped.
Second question (cause hey if i'm going to make a post, might as well make it worthwhile!): I also have small white spots at the top area inside my vulva (around my clitoris). Now i know these are normal but recently they have been 'popable'. By that i mean i can gently sqeeze and get white solidlike material out. I think this is just the white stuff i often have around my labia minora but I figured I would ask the ladies here. So its not a 'am i normal' but more of a 'what is it' because i know its normal as i've had these for years.

It sounds like a boil. I'd just give it a bit more time, put a hot compress on it, it'll end up coming to a head and you'll be able to pop it without it being so painful.

Here's (http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/2173.html) a good link relating to this, hopefully you won't be in pain for too much longer! :)

FYI if you hav'nt had them forever, they could possibly be HPV. HPV warts can resemble skin tags. If you've had them all your life, no worries, but if they recently appeared i would have the doctor look at them (also hpv can be spread by picking/shaving over the area with the warts).

yes they are contagious, they cannot be "cured" exactly, but they are removed either by being frozen off, burned off, or treated with acid gels over time. They can come back, but oftentimes they do not (technically you always have it), but like 80% of the population has been exposed to it in some form or another. You'd get them from another person, and shaving if you shave over the area can casue them to spread, as can picking at them. That said, don't worry too much until you see a doctor (also the sooner they're treated the less chance of them spreading, and the less chance of them coming back.)
Also i once had something that looked like it could be HPV, they did a biopsy and it was'nt, so really don't worry until you see the doctor.
The only reason i even mention it, is because so many people post "i have this, what is it" and they could possibly be ignoring something serious from a diagnosis they got on the internet. The sooner anything gets diagnosed and treated the better, and the less chance of bad things occuring. So please don't take what i'm seeing as fact, see a doctor, they very well could be nothing, or they could be something, but if you think that they are new, they could infact be something. so yea
my im is skirttheissuexo if you want to ask any other questions :)

i get painful pimples on my vag from time to time (like you said, especially under times of extreme stress) and they just go away on their own. make sure you keep it extra clean/dry down there and try taking nice hot showers and letting the water run over it. as far as the pain goes, try to wear loose-fitting panties/pants whenever you can (or neither when you're at home/sleeping in bed) and try to avoid crossing your legs. i hope it goes away soon!

you can get cortisone (i think ) injections in pimples that are very painful. i dont know if the gyno can, but im fairly sure that a dermatologist could. if you are in real pain and are willing to shell out for it ( i dont know how much, ive never done it) it might be worth asking about it.

I read an article in a magazine, I believe it's something like $200 for a cortisone shot. But if it's really painful or you're expecting an...er...audience ;) it's worth it

Definately do the heat thing. Using carmex (the lip stuff) helps bring boils to head for me, too.

How do you know its a pimple? I'm not saying its an STD or anything, but i have a little bump kinda inside my vag. Not like REAL deep but i mean i can see it when i spread the lips open to observe my vagina. And it looks like a zit but i'm not even sure what. I tried popping it but all it does is bleed. I think its a bit smaller but i donno what it is excatly.

It could be a sebaceous cyst. Don't try to pop them - just use hot compresses, take baths, and keep the area clean. There are other entries about them in the memories. I find that sometimes when they first pop up they hurt a little when you press on them, like a pimple would.

If those types of huge pimples (like 1cm in diameter or bigger) keep reocurring in the crotch area you might want to check with your doctor and see if it's a skin staph bacterial infection. It sounds exactly the same as my bad staph infections, even down to the location. A general practitioner can get a skin swab and see if it really is staph or not. If it is get it treated with antibiotics right away to keep it from getting a hold in your system. HOT compresses, as hot as you can stand, work WONDERFUL for getting it to a head. Keep putting a hot compress on it even after it's started draining, to help kill off everything. :)
