i know that you can take massive quantities of vitamin c to spur an abortion, but can it also bring on a period? has anyone tried it for that?

I imagen so... but then I doubt it would work. You would have to take A LOT for it to work...

Vitamin C can definitely work to bring on a period. According to Hot Pantz (a rad diy gynecology guide), the way to go is to start using vitamin C the day your period is due. Take 500 mg every hour (6000/day) for up to six days. It's less likely to work if you take vitamin c regularly, and shouldn't be used if you have kidney problems. Another good thing to combine with vitamin c is parsley, both in infusions and in sprigs that you insert vaginally and leave in for 12 hours. A decent number of my friends have brought on their periods this way.

hmmm. more in depth, this time.

i took a LOAD of vitamin C once when i had a pregnancy scare.
i wasnt pregnant. but i WAS paranoid.
my period was late. and id had an experience involving a broken condom, even though my partner didnt ejaculate.
i knew that my period problem was most likely a result of stress+my eating disorder...but like i said...i was paranoid.

so anyway. i took a lot of vitamin C + black cohosh every day. on the third day, i got my period.

but generally. just using vit. C to induce a period doesnt make a lot of sense to me.
as i understand it, mass quantities of C can be used for herbal abortion because it causes the acidicy of the body to become much too high for a pregnancy to be maintained. and thats all. as far as i know, it doesnt do anything directly for your period.

however, some herbs do.
parsley, black cohosh, supposedly evening primrose...i think? maybe.
and im sure there are others.

from what i understand it inhibits progesterone uptake in very high doses, making you unable to maintain a pregnancy. the acidity only comes into play when you stick a tablet up your vadge, which makes that one area of your body too acidy for sperm to survice.

You'd want to be careful with black cohosh. That's not really something a beginner should be using from what I've read about the possible complications. parsely, fair enough, not much that can go wrong with that, but black cohosh used wrongly can really mess up your insides.

i've done it a few times, i'm on the pill, and for whatever reason my period lags sometimes for DAYS after my course of pills are done, so i've used it to help kick-start my period and it works pretty well.

I just take 500mg every hour until it starts, it usually works within 6 hours for me. check out http://www.sisterzeus.com for more info...

Unless you gulp a whole lot of water that will kill your kidneys.
