[identity profile] agonystar.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] vaginapagina
I just had my pap the other day and it turns out that I have a mild case of vaginitis - is that similar or the same as a yeast infection? I'm wondering about that.

Anyway, on to my real question.

I noticed earlier that I have something - like a zit, maybe - right on my labia. It doesn't hurt (much), but it does hurt enough for me to notice it. I haven't had sex in nearly two years so that's not it. (Can't wait for that conjugal visit...woohoo!) Should I call my doctor again if it gets worse? Should I call her now? And most importantly, is it anything to worry about?

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure that a yeast infection is a TYPE of vaginitis (which basically just means inflammation of the vagina).

it probably is a pimple. that's happened to me before. i freaked out and thought i was getting genital warts or something, but nope, it was just a pimple. and as weird as this may sound, i have a pic, if it would make you feel better to compare.

yeah, I've gotten those. it's probably just a pimple, but it's on really sensitive skin and thus feels a little different and looks worse. give it a few days and see if it just goes away.

my doctor said i had vaginitis and then im pretty sure she also refered to it as thrush and YI and treated it with canesten. so, i think that means they are similar/same?

A YI is a type of vaginitis; so is BV.
