last night was awful. i went to bed at 130 or so, and woke up at 230 with horrible cramps. when they hadn't gotten better by 330, i took pain killers. it's the first time that i've taken them for cramps (or anything else, really) in about a year. they helped pretty quickly and i was able to sleep through the night, but i want to avoid taking them again unless something like that comes up. they decrease one's pain tolerance and the more one takes, the more one needs.

perhaps my vagina is just short, but i can constantly feel my keeper. i have the tab cut almost non-existent. when i'm sitting down i can't really feel it, but when i stand up and walk around i can. when i go to the bathroom, it starts to come out and i have to push it further in. the bottom part will be hanging out of me. i don't understand why. i put it in correctly (the right depth, and i turn it to form the seal and everything) and it feels fine for maybe half an hour, but then it starts working its way out. i know that i have a slightly tilted uterus. would that be the cause? am i too loose (*cringe*)? i have to keep my kegels clinched or it feels like it's going to fall out.

sounds like the keeper doesn't fit right for a whole lot of people...

i had similar experiences the few times i tried using tampons so i stuck with pads. during my last period i started using a sea sponge and had no trouble at all.

A sea sponge? How does that work? where would you find one?

it works much like a tampon in that it's inserted into your vagina and it soaks up blood. unlike tampons, sea sponges are natural, they last for several months and they don't take up space in landfills.

you can find them at health food stores and here.

Are you still at risk for TSS?
so would you reuse it and then throw it away when it starts going bad?
What are some health benefits? the not taking up space in landfills is great...how 'bout when I flush it? or should I flush it?

(sorry I'm so full of questions, its just I never heard of using a sea sponge as an alternative to tampons or pads...)

I think it just takes a lot of practice -- I mean, it's completely different than anything most women have ever used before. It's well worth it and there are tons of Keeper-converts who will attest to that -- Just ask [livejournal.com profile] jaclyn!
