Hello!
I am quite new to the whole birth control thing, being only on my third month of Alesse pills. My periods have become really irregular and spotty, with different sorts of bleeding (from extremely heavy to light and almost watery) and coming only 2 1/2 weeks apart. Is this normal? Is there something I can do to regulate this a little bit? Sex also causes me to cramp quite a bit the next day since going on the pill. Might that be related to the hormones?
Thanks for your help!
Jen

I would go to your doctor (or planned parenthood; wherever you got the pills) and tell them about your symptoms and discuss switching to a different pill. You've been on the pill long enough for the bleeding issues to have worked themselves out, and the cramping after sex sounds like it should be unacceptable. So try something new. Many women have to try several different kinds of BC pills before finding the right one.
