Ok, I had a colopospy thing done wend morning and now big chunks of black charcoally looking stuff is coming out of my vagina. What the hell is it? Should I be worried? It kinda looks like blood clots, but the "tissue" part is dark brown colored and the inside is that charcoally stuff. No one warned me about this....

edit: reading on webmd about this I think it maybe something used on the biospy sites to stop the bleeding that just has to fall out. Waiting on the doctor to call me back though.

Go see your doctor (or call, at least)! That sounds really... odd/bad/strange... O_o

Did you have a colposcopy or a LEEP? Brown coffe ground looking sludge coming out after a LEEP is normal. They don't tell you of course, so I flipped out when mine came out. I phoned the office and all was reassured as normal.

ahhh .. when I had my biopsy, a little born stuff came out, but not what you described. I freaked because I was 3 months pregnant (and the Dr. knew, we was my OB as well) ..

Sorry for sounding totally ignorant, but what is a colposcopy and who should get them done?

thanks for explaining :) Does the biopsy hurt much? Sounds uncomfy!

monsel's solution. there should be memories about it over at [livejournal.com profile] hpv but it's perfectly normal.

*hugs* Totally normal for a colposcopy. You can expect that (and possibly a runny discharge too) for a few days.

I just can't get over your doctor didn't warn you about that! After my colposcopy I left the office forwarned about that (and prepared! they even gave me one of those huge diaper-like pads ;)).

It looks like you've got it figured out, but I just wanted to throw it in once more for good measure. It's totally normal for a colposcopy. I had one on monday, with a couple of biopsies, and also had the coffee grounds and runny discharge. My doc also wanred me that it sometimes makes your period come a few days early. Which was true in my case... which sucks...because now I'm stuck with pads...which I haven't used since my first period ever...sigh.
