desogen birth control pills

hey everyone, I just switched birth control pills, I'm waiting for my period to come, so I haven't gotten to try my new pills yet. I was wondering if any of you have heard of desogen. That is the new pill Iam going to take. Does it cause weight gain or acne/oily skin? Have any of you had bad experiences with it? good experiences? let me know!

I had to switch from Ortho-Tri to Desogen because of my health insurance. I didn't have any weight gain or mood issues, but my skin definitely breaks out more, to the point I have to use prescription acne medicine. Other than acne, no problems.

I've been using Desogen for nearly two years and love it. I've only seen improvements, those being a very regular cycle, reduced time of heavy flow, reduced cramps, no weight gain (actually I've lost weight, but not because of the pill), and my acne definitely went away (with the exception of a little pimple every so often) after taking Desogen.

I think Desogen is geared more towards regulating your cycle and reducing cramps, so perhaps that's why the other poster had a different reaction with the acne. Not sure though.

i didn't mind it! i didn't have any side effects at all. it made my boobs bigger but that was about it. no acne or anything! good luck with it.

That was the very first pill I went on back in high school, and I was on it for about 5 years or so. I eventually switched because it proved to be too high a dose of estrogen for my body, and eventually my breasts ached/hurt 24 hours a day and I had lots of headaches. I switched to Loestrin and it cleared everything up... I didn't have increased acne or weight gain on Desogen though - overall I think it's a good pill. Good Luck!
