I had a question about my birth control. Today I was sick and less than an hour after taking my pill, I threw up. I don't know if the pill came up as well, or if there is any special procedure to follow in this instance. I asked a friend and she said I should probably just continue taking my pills as normal, but I thought I'd ask around here, since you ladies are pretty knowledgable. Any input on this would be great. Thanks in advance.

Sometimes your pills can make you sick. When I took Ortho-tricyclen I would get sick during the first week of a new pill pack. Normally as soon as I ate after taking my pill.

I always feel sick at the beginning of an ortho tri cyclen pack also. I have to fight not to vomit. What do you take now?

okay, if you threw it up (which is a possibility) its like missing a pill. most inserts say that missing one pill is fine, and that you dont need a back up. me, i always use condoms as well, so if youre worried id use condoms for a week or two just to be sure.

I've been told that most pills metabolize in about twenty minutes, so you should be fine.

You should be fine unless your sick and throw it up again tomorrow. If you do, call your doctor just to make sure. But one pill should be okay.

I don't think it'd be a problem... I was on the pill, and I'm bulimic, and I never had problems. Maybe I was just lucky, but I don't think throwing up would have that much of an effect on it, especially if it's only once.
