so i've been readin this community for a while and never posted... and ive been seeing these posts about external yeast infections lately, which made me wonder, cos i had been itchy all around the outside of my vaginal area for about 2-3 months now but i just thought my skin was irritated from something like the weather or what not since i didnt have any discharge or smell funky or anything... but then i realized, i should not have to deal with being itchy!! so i went to the doc this morning and she said i had an external yeast infection and gave me diflucan.
so to all those girls who have an itch on the outside, but no other symptoms, it could still be a yeastie! dont live with it for 3 months like i did!

thats exactly what i was thinking only because i happen to be at work checking lj (which i guess i probably shouldnt but hey whatever) and i was like "whoa!" and couldnt even read the post because i had to scroll down so fast.

Thanks for posting this... I've been having itchies and I didn't -think- it was a yeast infection because I haven't had any of the other symptoms... I didn't know they could be external only! That's good info to have =D

I've been itchy for several months as well....was paranoid maybe I had an STD, even when the tests came back negative. haven't been to the gyno in about a year :-/ guess I should get on that.
