Hey ladies!

I just have a question about vaginal dryness -- I've been going through a hellish case of it for the past few days, and it's finally starting to get better at least. At first, I thought it was the beginnings of a yeast infection, but if it was it's gone away.

I'm on Alesse-28 and have been for over a year now, and I've read online that bcp can cause dryness -- but I was under the impression that it was a constant thing. I only go through this once a month or so; I think it's starting to work with my cycle. Is this normal, or anything I should get checked out with a doctor? And if it is just a normal thing, is there anything to take care of the symptoms? Because, damn it all, it burns and can be itchy and it's just not a fun thing to go through!

A friend of mine has always been very dry whenever she gets her period. She just tends to use lube on her tampon to give herself a bit more moisture, maybe that would work?

This may be an obvious question, but...are you drinking enough water? I don't know where you are, but it's really hot right now where I am, and it's easy to forget to drink extra water. Dehydration makes for more vaginal dryness, so drink a lot if you haven't been.
