Just looking for opinions of other people who have gone through similar.

The first guy I had sex with, I got a barthaloin cyst afterwards. Not the first time, but maybe the 3rd time I had sex. We didnt use condoms and were drunk and I wasnt very lubricated down there. I ended up in hospital due to barthloin cyst and they put me to sleep and drained it.

The second guy I slept with, no condoms again, had a very thick penis, and I got another cyst after the first time we slept together (again, I wasn't lubricated enough down there, this time I was sober but I didn't realise until he was already inside me and he kept going even though I was in pain) and ended up having another cyst drained. on a different occasion I slept with him again over a few days, and then I felt the lump coming back...and it did. I went to hospital and had it drained and they didnt get all the fluid out so I had it drained a second time a week later.

So I had cysts drained 4 times in total, all on the same side. Its making me afraid to have sex again. Has anyone who had these ever just had them stop by making sure they were very lubricated?

About 1.5 weeks after I had my last cyst drained I had sex with a different guy (I know I should have waited longer), whos penis was probably average size and we used a condom, and I was fine. I was very lubricated beforehand, lots of foreplay, and I enjoyed it and it was such a relief I didnt get sick again. I want to sleep with him again, it has been a few months since I had sex with him (he was the last person), but i'm terribly scared I will end up in hospital again. I don't know if the condom made a difference but I was hoping not to use them again as its less enjoyable for me.

Can anyone please give me any advise its really frustrating. I spoke to my gp about it and she basically said its something I have to deal with...but having cysts drained every time I have sex is so traumatic not to mention painful.

People with a paragard, have you all noticed more discharge around the time you you ovulate? I have it for like a week every month. The smell is slightly stronger, but not foul. I, also experience a little itching, but that may be from overwashing because I want the discharge and smell gone. Also, does anyone ever feel like a clump of discharge in their vaginal opening?

Hi VP, I have a nervy pre-surgery question.

I recently finally got around to seeing my doctor about what I was already pretty sure was a microperforate hymen (I am 27, irregular periods, never been able to use tampons or do any other kind of penetration). She basically confirmed it and then I went through the public-health rigmarole of gynae referral, consultation scan, pre-work-up, etc. I have now been booked in for a surgery in the next few weeks. I was expecting (after my very scientific and extensive googling) to be booked in for a hymenectomy/hymenotomy but instead I've been booked in for a Fenton's procedure, which after some more googling looks like a similar procedure that generally happens to women who experience scarring after a peritoneal tear during childbirth. They both do the same open-the-vulva-up type thing but I'm a bit nervous that it's going to be a more extended procedure than I was hoping - hymenectomies seem pretty noninvasive and the Fenton's seems like it involves rather more cutting into bits that shouldn't normally be cut and sewing up etc. Am I totally overthinking it? I know the answer is really going to be "Yes, talk to the surgeon", but has anyone had a hymenectomy referred to as a Fenton's procedure, are they really the same thing, is Fenton's just a very wide term that could encompass a hymenectomy? - etc etc.

I can think of a few non-serious explanations (for example, some people in the google seem to use the words Fenton's procedure and hymenectomy interchangeably) that would let me avoid actually using my words to talk about this ... I consider myself quite non-fussy about this sort of thing but for some reason I DREAD the idea of trying to bring this up with the surgeon (who I don't expect to meet until day-of) or my GP, who is my family doctor and has been since I was 4. I have no doubt I would end up using horrible euphemisms and generally making a fool of myself.

Guys, I have never once in my two years of being on a BC pill missed one, ever. However, after some gnarly asian food, I was feeling very sick. So, when I threw up minutes after taking it, I had no idea what to do. My only thought was to take another one, but now I am unsure as to what I need to do. Take Saturday's pill on Friday? Just keep going? Wait on it? Ahh, help?
