Hi everyone,

This is a sort of followup to my post about genital ulcers (includes nsfw picture).

I had a few smaller outbreaks since then, but I haven't had any new ones for quite some time, which I am happy about.

My issue now is scarring. I have scars on my outer labia, where to two giant ulcers I referred to in my last post were located. The texture is different from the other tissue in the area, and they're not as stretchy, which can be a problem when it comes to penetrative sex.

My main issue, however, is that they are tender most of the time. It's not a huge deal- it's only like, 1 or 2 on the pain scale. But I would really prefer to have no pain, you know? Apparently genital ulcers do not usually scar, but I'm not surprised mine did, given their size.

How long will it take for the scars to go away?
Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? Is it likely that there's nerve damage?
Will I have this for the rest of my life?
Is this likely to be a problem for giving birth (not pregnant, but planning to get that way in the next year or so)?
Will horseback riding or unicycling make it worse (I love both activities, but I've been too afraid to try)?

I know I should ask my doctor about this, but I am so damn tired of talking to doctors about my genitals, especially if it turns out that the answer is to just wait it out. If there is a home remedy I'm up for trying it.

And, to be honest, I really just want some reassurance.
